Dates for the White-Luck Warrior? posted 02 Apr 2009, 09:04 in The Judging EyeDates for the White-Luck Warrior? by Boblin, Commoner

Hello all, just finished TJE. My conclusion is that a) the book was completely awesome, and b) I want more, and I want it now. So is there a set publication date for the next volume and how is Scott's writing going? Can't find anything on this anywhere. view post

Re: why have skin spies originally? posted 27 Apr 2009, 13:04 in The Judging Eyewhy have skin spies originally? by Boblin, Commoner

Two possible explanations. a) skin spies gave them a good way of not only spying but - by replacing trusted advisors etc - actually nudging rulers in a certain direction. A regular spy has much less ability to actually do something about a threatening development somewhere. or b) just for the hell of it - they are too cool not to be used. view post

Something odd about Gin'yursis posted 28 Apr 2009, 19:04 in The Judging EyeSomething odd about Gin'yursis by Boblin, Commoner

What language did the undead nonman king speak since he could be understood by the Skin Eaters (which would rule out any nonman language)? Sheyic? If so, how did he learn it? He's been hanging around under a mountain for approximately 2.000 years. Or am I missing something here? ETA: Another thing - I just noticed that Gin'yursis was the name of the renegade Quya that first taught the Gnosis to men. Interesting. view post

Okay, that could make sense. And then of course he possessed Cleric, and got the appropriate language that way since Cleric speaks Sheyic, I guess. On the other hand - I just realized that I would very much like an explanation of how a person with Cleric's memory could have managed to learn a foreign language. view post

What, if anything, is known about Maithanet's mother? I can't recall her being mentioned anywhere, either in the books or here. view post

Re: The Doomed Ordeal? posted 29 Apr 2009, 14:04 in The Judging EyeThe Doomed Ordeal? by Boblin, Commoner

Even if Kellhus wants to destroy Golgotterath, I don't see if, or how, this is possible. My impression is that even the nonmen Quya couldn't destroy it when they had an obvious opportunity, since they just cast a glamour around it. view post
