I too enjoyed the soundtrack. I especially like, i believe it was number seven, Ride of the Rohirrim. Thjat song was impressive. It's like, if you close your eyes, you could see the Riders of Rohan charging onto the Pelennor Fields...amazing view post
I also voted yes, because of two reasons. One, it will keep people from getting too out of hand with their characters, like we wont have a super-powerful character. Two, it will encourage people to be different races in order to use that races inherent abailities view post
OK, here is my opinion. I think it should be a text rpg for a few reasons. One, it will force the person to actually think up their characterm describe it to the others in the room or wherever they may be. I mean, in the guilds i play in, I take 5-6 posts to describe my character, from the crests on his armor, to the cape attached to the shoulder plates, to his sword, lightning runes running along the blade. Another reason, it would be too expensive and take too much time to make visual images for each person, and not everyone may have the right requirements on their comps to see the images. view post
Hey, was wondering if anyone has made a english-to-kunyuri translator online to use for roleplaying purposes? view post
was wondering if any of you roleplay on aol chat rooms, and if so, would wish to make a guild based on the prince of nothing series view post
Ok, well, I think this will be the first time im posting outside of the rpg discussion thread. Ive played Magic: the Gathering since 1998, though I have done no tournaments as of yet (my deck sucks!) As for WoW and other online mmorpg's, I dont have the money and my mom needs help, due to my father being brain-damaged due to medical negligence. But I wont depress you all with the sad tale. view post
This subject has to be picked up again. If I could vote, Id vote yes. Ive seen a few people in aol guilds who play uber-god characters, like, take for example, a angel-demon-samurai-mage. Funny, huh? There are others, like 15-year old king with the powers of the druid and the ability to become incorporeal and speak with ghosts. That is why we need some control. That is why a characters abilities should be tied to their race. view post
Well, sorry it took me a long time to get to this thread. It seems you are on to something there, Cat. If you tell me where to get this game, Id go and get it. Also, we may need someone who works in the computer gaming industry, one who could get this game made for us... view post
not an rpg thread the way your thinking. Its a discussion on how to make an rpg based on the prince of nothing series. view post
well, I have a few ideas for a rp in chats on aol. I leave the actual computer game to those more able to accomplish the task. view post
well, there are a good amount of people registered onto this forum, so we should see if anyone can do it. view post
I myself have read J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and those books were simply awe-inspiring. But they have nothing on the Prince of Nothing series. The PoN books are an entire new world, full of history, of magic, and with a political system that reminds one of modern-day affairs. Once you pick up the book, I guarantee you that you wont want to put it down. James from New York view post
Is there some sort of english to dunyain dictionary that you might be working on Scott? view post
Ok. I know maybe about a third of the books you guys are speaking about, but one thing really makes me sad. Out of all of the posts on this thread, I see only one person mention Terry Brooks, and even then, it was only his name. Havent any of you read the Shannara books.? those are some pretty amazing books. I myself especially like the High Druid of shannara series, when Grianna Ohmsford becomes High Druid of Paranor... those books are totally awesome. view post
You know what really pisses me off?The fact that Hezbollah is nothing more than a puppet, controlled by Syria and Iran. I mean, think about it. Iran is probably afraid of Israel flying in and taking out their nuclear reactor like Israel did in Iraq in the 80's. So what does Iran do? It tells Hezbollah to go and start a war with Israel, keep everyone from paying attention to Iran while Iran goes about continuing to refine plutonium, despite the entire international community's repeated declarations against it. view post
Or, the person could make the game using the rpg-maker game, then send it to a video game company and suggest to them, then we, and the millions of other PoN fans out there and send letters to said game company telling them of our support for a proper PoN game. view post
i love some anime. Rather, id like it all, but i dont have the money to buy all the anime out there. view post
Thank you. Im glad we got some people who know about the Shannara books. Well, anyone read Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake novels? view post
Ive read all of the anita blake books, and they are seductively dark, erotic and frightening. view post
:Sighs: And yet again, here comes another smart-mouth foreigner who thinks to enlighten us with their supposed knowledge of how we in the U.S do things. So sokar, you come from England, cause if you do, I wonder where you get off preaching, when up until the 1950's you actually had "colonies". I mean, the reason why the middle-east is so full of tension is because of the action the british took, carving out a Jewish state in what was palestinian lands. view post
I voted yes. Simply out, I know there are many people in the worlds who are smarter than me. Some of them are my friends. A good number of people whom I deem smarter than me are you guys. the ones that post the deep thoughts on this board. view post
I know, I should have posted this yesterday, but I was with my dad, so I couldnt. I want all of your views on what happened 5 years ago yesterday, how it has affected the country, and how you each personally have been affected. You can state other facts relevant to the topic, but I want all of your opinions. view post
eh, i know a few moderators of various forums, and they sometimes use their mod powers a bit too much, sometimes locking whole threads. Usually it something that pisses them off...but anyway. view post
:chuckles: Nice one Harrol. Anyway. Harrol, can you tell me your views on the world before 9/11 and how they may have been changed afterward? Anyone else can chime in if they like. view post
:Nods: That was very insightful Alhana. see, this is one of the things Im looking for. I wonder now, five years later, about the circumstances that kept my dad from being in the north tower that day. Five years ago, he worked for Lexent telecom, and on September 10th, he was working on the 93rd floor in the North Tower. He was to go back up there the next day, but had not recieved the necessary equipment to finish the job, and so was sent to another job on 42nd Street. At the time, I did not know this, and, while in class, when I heard about the planes hitting the twin towers, my heart practically stopped, for at that point, I feared for my father's safety. It wasnt until the next day did I hear from him, for the cellphone network in manhattan was in disarray, and he didnt get a chance to get to a phone until the 12th. I was so glad to hear his voice, as was the rest of my family. view post
well, the boards that the the person was a moderator for never really got spam, it was mostly out of spite, or because of what someone posted... view post
Yea, it was pretty close to home. Even now, as I sit here, I wonder how my life might be different if my father happened to be in there when the towers fell. Would I be one of those at Ground Zero each year, standing by my mom as she spoke my father's name. Would I be sitting here now, or would I be doing something different. Who knows, I might have gotten myself to lose the weight and get into the military, as so many young people did in the days after 9/11. I think of all these things as I sit here, typing... view post
Anyone else want to speak of their experiences on that day? or how they feel the country or the world was affected? view post
Well Gierra. Normally, something like that might work, but remember, kids who usually ignored the bully prolly wound up getting beat up worse. Besides, there were other attacks that led up to 9/11, like the embassy bombings in Africa, then the first attack on the twin towers. We didnt do much after the embassy bombings, and even after the first attack on the towers, we didnt do enough, so we reaped what we sow. view post
lol god that is some funny shit. Where did you get those? view post
:Nods: That is true Harrol. Or rather, made us a bigger target. Because remember, in the 70's and 80's the radical islamic groups hated all westerners. But, after Desert storm and other subsequent U.S military actions in the middle east, the terrorist groups turned their sights squarely on us. view post
That might be true Harrol. But it might actually be that we fear a United Middle East that doesnt support us, because if that happens, the world stage can change greatly. Especially if more groups like hezbollah form in Iraq and other places. view post
Im not even gonna try making comments about what you all have said, but I will mention the one thing that maybe you guys either havent thought of, or didnt think it might pertain to the conversation at hand. You all have seen sci-fi movies or read book where genetic engineering is used to make military weapons and the like, bio-weapons that can kill hundreds of soldiers in minutes and stuff like that. Think about what genetic engineering might do to conflicts in the future, because I dont know about you guys, but I dont think there will be peace anytime soon. view post
You know what it is? It is children continually being putting under an increasing burden by society to be perfect, to get good grades, to be popular and all that shit. Some of the kids just can take it anymore, so they take out there frustration violently. As for the adults, well, Im not sure bout them. view post
Thats what I meant by my post, guys. It is society to blame for how these kids are being backed into a corner, becoming more and more burdened with higher and higher standards, more refined social obligations, like a string of a guitar thats gets twisted more and more until finally...it snaos... view post
:chuckles: I know what its like to be picked on. I was the fat kid at school, the one who played the trading card games (Magic :TheGathering). But, I never got it into my head to go shoot my tormentors. view post
Well hold on. Two of the shootings were by adults, whom, only after the fact, were found out to either have been sexually molested, or to have been a molestor (sp?) I mean, there is no truly effective way of helping these people, especially if they either arent caught, in the case of the latter, or, too afraid to come forward, in the case of the former. For the former, the fear of coming forward is most likely due to the fact that society, as a whole, looks differently on those who have been molested, and molestors themselves, because most of the time, one who molests another was most likely molested himself. view post
Oh yea...I play with fire :grins, lights match before running around with it: view post
Well, Im sure Ive told you guys on other threads, but I live in Queens, NY. About as close you can get to Manhattan without living there. My neighborhood is pretty safe, havent had any shootings or stuff like that. Anyway, my point is is that there are alot of kids at the nearby junior high school (6-8th grades ), and fights happen outside of the school. But we never had anything happen there like the shootings in Colorado and Pennsylvania. view post
I only got into two when I was in school. One was to protect a pair of sixth-graders from about two dozen other six-graders, who were taunting and cursing at the pair. I dont know why there were doing it, but me and my bro told them to lay off, and when they didnt, fists flew. It lasted about 10 minutes, stopping when an old lady came out and said " get the fuck out of here you stupid spics" Those are her exact words, and Im Italian, so you know who she was talking to. The second fight was due to the insensitive ways of one of the"popular" kids in my class. view post
Success? I would call my life a success when I have a family of my own, and am able to live a happy life. That would be my idea of a successful life view post
Well, the names of the titles are cool, but I dont really use it in my posts or what not. But the fact of rank does affect me somewhat. I like having ahigher rank on the boards. It makes it seem like I am contributing somehow view post

(OOC) Hey. Im not a geek. I just like rp (IC) Hellscythe writhes as he overwhelmed by herpes. He holds his hands in prayer as he speaks, his eyes looking up to the sky: God, take this disease from your servant, and grant him strength to defeat the sorcerous heathens... view post
