I think the fact that it is mentioned as regularly as it is during the series so far indicates it is an object of importance. What we know of the Nail of Heaven: - it's really bright - it has religious and spiritual significance to many My theories so far have often revolved around space and ships. - it is the Inchoroi Mothership - it is a human arkship which travelled there from elsewhere...possibly Earth - it is a non-man space ship - it is a giant satellite that is beaming down the source of magic Yah, just had to throw that last one in after reading some David Gemmell. view post
I always took it to refer to a pole star - the other stars appear to revolve around it, making it seem like a fixed point in the heavens.
But I suppose that idea is a bit boring compared to your theories, eh?

the nail of heaven is either the evening star which is venus i think, or it is the southern cross but most likely I think the nail of heaven is the milky way view post

I guess it depends on how the nail is visualized. If you think of it as a nail already hammered into the heavens than it is most likely a star. I've always thought of the Nail as well...a nail. So it always had the vertical length visible and not just the nail head. view post
