I have turned off guest posting, and am working on deleting members who have demonstrated themselves to be spammers. However, when I delete the users, there may be residual posts left. Their author will be "Anonymous" Guest. These are not new posts, just leftover posts with no author. Let me know when you find them and I will delete them. Thanks for all of your patience. view post

Hey, yea sometimes I'm going to be away from the board for a few days to a week at a time when things get busy for me, but never fear I clean house when I come back. Unfortunately there was so much spam in the Off-Topic forum that I didn't bother going into individual threads to grab the spammers name for bannination I just went into my special moderation panel and selected all of the 0 reply spam threads and deleted them. Cleaning can be fun Especially when you nuke the spam from orbit view post

It would help alot if the entire memberlist was cleaned of spammers in one big cleanout, then the spammers could be dealt with daily as they register. Maybe we need more Mods? view post

All we really need is to have one of those "punch in the characters from the image" thing in the registration page. Would cut down on virtually all automated spam. Of course the real people spammers are harder to deal with. view post

I thought we had a security code? Plus people are paid to spam these days so all they would really have to do is spam on their own or register and setup a code so maybe somewhat effective it wouldnt completely solve the problem. view post
