I started a local "Buy R.A. Salvatore's Demonwars books, dont diss cuz of Drizzt" campaign around here and on various MB's.

I will have to do something similar for you Scott (im assuming thats what you prefer to be called). So far im about 2/3 of the way through TDTCB and im hooked. I WILL SPREAD THE WORD!!! view post

A Game of Thrones posted 09 July 2004 in Literature DiscussionA Game of Thrones by Kingslayer, Candidate

I have yet to reread the series but will attempt to reread them close to a firm release date for AFFC.

As far as the books go, i can honestly say, that The Darkness That Comes Before is the first "Fantasy" book ive picked up since reading ASOIAF, Martin basically killed Fantasy for me for about a year and a half. Everything i read i compared to ASOIAF and it was all found wanting. Now, however, its been long enough that i think i can enjoy fantasy again. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> view post

Specifically Angels &amp; Demons and The Da Vinci Code. I loved these books. the controversy alone is fun to watch. Books being released almost on a daily basis attempting to refute the things in TDVC.

Has anyone read either of these fantastic books? view post
