I'm also new to the site. hi. And have waited until I finished the first book to post here.

But also as fan of Erikson and Martin I had a completely different experience, I found the book very easy to get into partly because the first section concentrated on Akka which was fairly easy to follow.

I finished tDTCB last night and it was very good, I still cant understand why it captivated me so much but I found it very difficult to put down.

I'm now very much looking forward to tWP. view post

After reading TDTCB I also got the impression the Sranc were werewolf-esque, I think it was the feral like descriptions that lead me to this. view post

Names and Pronunciation posted 06 July 2006 in The Darkness That Comes BeforeNames and Pronunciation by Danforth, Commoner

The names add a great depth to the novel and makes it more epic-fantasy like. But there should of been 'Cnaiur (Nay-ur)' like things for all names in the glossary as opposed to just a few.

I have taken to prouncing 'c' as 'k' in the novel as in Tolkien's world btw. view post
