A quick description of a Bashrag right here in this forum would be pretty cool. I think I've got a good idea of the appearance of other strange races of the world, but the Bashrag eludes me. How bout it Scott? <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> view post

Why read fantasy? posted 20 May 2007 in Literature DiscussionWhy read fantasy? by Anglobotomy, Commoner

My intro to fantasy lit was through those Fighting Fatasy choose your own adventure style books about 25 yrs ago when I was a kid. Deathtrap Dungeon was the first I think. Those books were awesome at the time. Shortly after that I got annoyed at other fantasy books that just had stories in them. That changed though. I think David Eddings cemented my addiction to fantasy. Prince of Nothing is probably the most enjoyment I've gotten from fantasy in years. Even Martin is getting boring. I haven't tried Erickson so I guess I should based on what I hear on here. view post

No more Elves. Innovative, Violent and Thought-provoking. posted 20 May 2007 in Literature DiscussionNo more Elves. Innovative, Violent and Thought-provoking. by Anglobotomy, Commoner

I can imagine how anyone can enjoy the Elric books (just had to say that, sorry). I have to second the Guy Gavriel Kay accolade. I really like his earlier writing. Isabel left me flat. The Sarantium books were just great. He's all about the characters and I like that. There's a lot of other good books listed in this thread. Smart people come to this forum. view post

Population posted 23 May 2007 in Author Q &amp; APopulation by Anglobotomy, Commoner

I have a good idea of the number of people involved in the Holy War, but not such a good handle of city sizes. I don't suppose you could supply us with an approximate population of such cities as Momemn, Sumna and other major centers. Would any rival the population of say Rome at its height? view post

Funny, Im currently running a D&amp;D campaign in your world, Scott, and doing my best to stay true to your vision pre-Kellhus. view post
