I'm about 150 pages into the 3rd book, and I just wanted to comment on the pacing of the novels. The first book was brilliant- It kept me engaged and interested with a fluid and fast moving storyline. The 2nd book was a lot slower, and way too much thinking and philosophical thought IMO. Now, with Book 3 so far, it's also very philosophical in nature. Anyone else find this rather unappealing? view post
Well yeah, the 2nd half of TTT made up for it- brilliant cliffhanger. I like deep stuff- I'm a huge fan of Wolfe, Dunsany, Eddison etc, I just didn't like the constant discussion of philosophy. view post
I think Kellhus will become anti-mankind in the Aspect Emperor. And his son by Esmi, who will be 18-19, and the young Moenghus will play big roles, I think.
And wishful thinking tells me Akka will save the day.

I read somewhere that I cannot remember that the third trilogy is dubiously dubbed- No-God Trilogy. Which really helps the theory that Kellhus becomes the No-God in Trilogy III. Purple Library Guy, I share your sentiments. I'm almost convinced that Kellhus will be working actively to destroy mankind some stage during this series. view post
Seeing as the book is rumoured to happen 20 years from the events of TTT, I'm thinking mini-Moenghus and the child of Esmi-kellhus could also have parts to play. Thoughts? view post
I hope it actually isn't like a total parallel of the 1st apocolayse. I'm actually hoping here that Kellhus turns evil, simply because I hate him, and then Achamian gets to save the world, and gets together with Esmenet again. Long live happy endings!

Wolfe for me, is the modern day peake. Not that modern, but you get my point. view post
