Hello hello, I'm not completely new to this forum, my old account Xatantius hasn't yet been reactivated >.> So until then I'm being Skafadi. I notice forumship has dropped off pretty sharply since the big change and the new-look front page, so I hope people start coming back soon. Hope to see you all back soon:) view post
I certainly hope not. He's one of my favorite characters and he'd be a great part of the Aspect-Emperor series. I notice that his last appearance in TTT was quite open-ended- he just kinda went with the skin-spy who looked like Serwe. So, I have formed a Theory (with a capital T, no less). I think that the Consult, through their skin-spies, will manipulate Cnaiur into becoming their new Horde-General against Kellhus' Great Ordeal. He might be crazy, but he's still the only one who knows Kellhus for what he is, and probably the most brilliant tactician after Kellhus himself. Furthermore, the Consult know how much he hates the Dunyain and that he's probably their best chance of beating Kellhus in battle.
So yes...there that is.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW BOOK!

The new series is twenty years after the PoN Series, which is fair enough I guess. Still, I'd like to read about Kellhus subduing all the Three Seas, 'cause he'd have a really hard time of it. It took him twenty years apparently-6 nations to convert and subdue, none of which have really heard of him except through correspondence, suddenly find themselves subject to a new Aspect-Emperor. I'd be pissed, I guess:P view post
Simply put-who will win, and why? Or, who do you want to win, and why? Personally, I think Obama and I hope Obama, if only to ensure that Palin has no chance of getting into office. That woman scares me no end. Please no ragging other people's opinions, flaming etc. view post
I think it's really good you've made the decision to open up about your feelings-even online. I'm not a psychologist or anything, but I highly recommend you do the same with your close friends, your family and your fiance. It's the people you're closest to who will be the greatest help and support to you. I also think you should seek the help of a counsellor or therapist. It might seem stupid or not worthwhile, but it worked wonders for me, even after a few weeks. It helps draw out problems you might not even know you have. Good luck. If you need any help, I think everyone at this forum is more than willing to help you out. I know I am. Take care of yourself. view post
'You know nothing of war. War is dark. Black as pitch. It is not a God. It does not laugh or weep. It rewards neither skill nor daring. It is not a trial of souls, nor the measure of wills. Even less is it a tool, a means to some womanish end. It is merely the place where the orn bones of the earth meet the hollow bones of men and break them.' ... Awesome:D view post

RELEASE DATES!!!!11!omg
...
*ahem*
It's been a while since my last visit. I totally missed all of this. I cannot WAIT for the Judging Eye. I hope that January 1st release date for Australia is right, if it is I'm driving to Sydney and camping outside a bookstore.

Okay, to avoid controversy, I'm not asking this question to offend or gall or anything, I genuinely don't know, but why is it that African-Americans are always stereotyped as loving chicken and watermelon? I'm from Australia so I'm kind of out of the loop on this, but I always hear comedians and TV shows going on about it so I'm just curious. (I love watermelon. It rocks.) view post
See, that's good for me to know. Thank you

Huh... That's not a bad theory. I don't think Cnaiur died either, if Bakker was going to kill him off he would've been explicit about it. The Utemot (that's the tribe) general was named Sathgai, and while he was the Scylvendi general during the Apocalypse-a role that Caniur could easily fill- I don't know if they'd lock Caniur inside a carapace. Personally I have no idea what the No-God is, and I'm not sure I want to know. It's one of those things that works best as a mystery I think. If there was some mundane explanation for it it'd ruin it for me. view post
Happened to me too dude:P Welcome back by the way view post
They're one of the Weapon Races created by the Inchiroi, so they have the same bloodlust that the Sranc do. I think they're the Earwa version of tanks- they're described as being very large, large enough to easily lift a full-grown man, and they have a peculiar body structure- their limbs are seemingly three limbs somehow welded together. Not much has been explained about them, but this will probably change in the Judging Eye.
So yes. I am a Bashragologist

Kellhus vs. AFRO SAMURAI!
Afro Samurai hands down. Kellhus is cool but Afro is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. Case closed.

I know the PERFECT Eleazaras- Ian McKellan. Perfect age, a fantastic actor who's just the right mix of posh and evil
Apart from that...I got nothin'. I've been wracking my brain for someone who could hold a candle to either Cnaiur or Kellhus, no dice.

First off, how good is that title?
Secondly, a very merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/ cheery atheistic gift-giving time. I hope you all get the Judging Eye as a late Christmas present:)

It's definitely up to the standard of PoN, but I do hope the next books in the series are stronger. JE was very much a setup book-introducing characters, blah de blah, and thats fine, but two of the three story arcs went nowhere. I'm really hoping for some good old fashioned action in the next one. In addition, I'm getting a wee bit tired of the constant mopey soul-searching every single character engages in. It's like everyone in Earwa majored in Philosophy and Drama. Hopefully it'll grow on me on re-reads. view post
