Why did the consult kill xerius? posted 09 December 2007 in The Thousandfold ThoughtWhy did the consult kill xerius? by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

This has been vexing me for a while

(How rude, I am Hear Me Roar, from the GRRM site, but I love PoN)

I have a hard time believing she was a skin-spy the whole time. All that said, I still dont' get why Xerius was killed. For all the skin-spy stuff, besides the Thing called Sarcellus, who was an immediate threat? It seams the Consult was way more into observing, so why the sudden murder here? view post

Inchoroi: Aliens or Demons? posted 09 December 2007 in The Thousandfold ThoughtInchoroi: Aliens or Demons? by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

From what we know, they do, in fact seem like aliens, which I don't like. But I trust Bakker. I choose to believe that they are both space aliens and demons at the same time.

Now who is Aurax and who is Aurang? view post

Who would you cast in a Prince of Nothing movie? posted 19 December 2007 in General DiscusssionWho would you cast in a Prince of Nothing movie? by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

Hello all. Fairly new to this forum, more experienced over on the Song of Ice and Fire forum. I love this question.

Gibson isn't the Akka I picture in my head. I'm having a really hard time coming up with who I think he is.

I also love Bellucci as Ezmi.

I had a thought that I personally love, just my opinion, but Gary Oldman is exactly how I picture Eleazaras.

Kellhus is a hard one too. view post

'The Great Ordeal' or 'Horns of Golgotterath'? posted 20 December 2007 in The Great Ordeal [supposed]'The Great Ordeal' or 'Horns of Golgotterath'? by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

Well, now we're turning this into a best scene thread...damn, so many.

I love the battle where Cnaiur realizes Conphas has a school with him and disaster ensues.

I love any scene where Conphas doesn't buy Kellhus' story and condescends everyone.

The scene where the thing called Skaeos freaks out at the site of Akka and we are introduced to the skin spies.

too many to name...

But my favorite has to be when Akka, thanks to his Wathi Doll gets lose and reigns gnostic wreckage on that stronghold. Sweet revenge view post

"Murderous Children" posted 21 December 2007 in The Great Ordeal [supposed]"Murderous Children" by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

I think it is a bit unfair to assume that Serwe's genetics would predisposition her offspring to be unworthy. Yes, her character is nothing compared to Esmenet and Cnaiur intellectually, but she came from such a different background than they do, it could be that her intelligence was never cultivated. view post

Inchoroi: Aliens or Demons? posted 21 December 2007 in The Thousandfold ThoughtInchoroi: Aliens or Demons? by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

OK, I've missed something. The Synthese is the little bald bird right? Now is he one of the Inchoiroi taking a different form?

Is the creature at the end of TWP who keeps asking "Who are the Dunyain, either Aurax or Aurang and if so, which is he? Is he the same as the one who comes to Kellhus and takes over Esmenet's body? Is he the same as the guy who makes crazy love to Esmi in Sumna where we are first introduced to black seed?

Clear some stuff up for me fellas. view post

Nostalgia: Fav part of the trilogy? posted 24 December 2007 in The Thousandfold ThoughtNostalgia: Fav part of the trilogy? by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

So many but I'll have to 2nd the sequence after the Wathi Doll gets Akka out. Sweet revenge.

I've only read the series once but I re-read the prologue of tDTCB the other day, and I have to say, it's amazing. It was great to re-read it with a new frame of reference. You get a great picture of how Kellhus studies and manipulates Leweth. view post

Gnosis vs. Anagogis, and sorcery in general posted 24 December 2007 in Author Q & AGnosis vs. Anagogis, and sorcery in general by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

I know Scott doesn't post here too often anymore, but that's somehing I've always been curious about, the distiction he makes in the origins of the gnostic and anagogic sorceries being derived from intellect, and the Psuhke being derived from passion.

I'm curious why this distinction is made and if there is anything else to it. view post

Cnaiur Badass Quote! posted 08 January 2008 in The Thousandfold ThoughtCnaiur Badass Quote! by Hear Me Roar, Candidate

OK, this is not a quote of Cnaiur, but it is about him. At some point, he does something or says someting and Achamian thinks to himself in italics "Many people have underestimated this man."

I think that is a genius way of Scott's of adding to the legend. view post

That is way more Akka than anyone else I've thought about. view post
