why have skin spies originally? posted 25 Apr 2009, 21:04 by sciborg3, Commoner

are the consult actively at work in the world? are they searching for pieces of the No-God that are scattered through Earwa? If not, if all they need do is repair his body in their golden fortress...why have skin spies? Why not just retreat away from the world of men until the No-God returns? It seems needlessly risky to put spies out in the first place beyond mortals you can pay off. view post

Two possible explanations. a) skin spies gave them a good way of not only spying but - by replacing trusted advisors etc - actually nudging rulers in a certain direction. A regular spy has much less ability to actually do something about a threatening development somewhere. or b) just for the hell of it - they are too cool not to be used. view post

[quote="Boblin":2wv88uil]actually nudging rulers in a certain direction.[/quote:2wv88uil] Exactly. If the pesky humans are busy fighting each other, they're somewhat less likely to get their Great Ordeal on, right? view post
