Online RPG? posted 04 Aug 2004, 17:08 by Sovin Nai, Site Administrator

Wil and I were thinking it could be fun to have some kind of online RPG set in the Three Seas. If you are a member and interested, drop me a PM with any ideas you have or just let me know you're interested. view post

Do you mean something like a simple IRC chat in role, an adaptation of the D20 system or something similar for the Three Seas setting and played online, or something else entirely? It's been so long since I've played an RPG that wasn't a PC game, I seriously doubt my imagination is up to the task of a more open ended roleplaying game. My mind's been too severely rotted by videogames. view post

I have no idea, really. Right now I'm just looking for an interested body of people who can begin discussing it. If there is interest and Scott approves, I'm going to set up a forum for it, where we can begin hashing these sorts of things out. Right, now, I'm just exploring. view post

I [i:82wvy9lk]might[/i:82wvy9lk] be interested, I have never played an RPG before, it would depend on the format I suppose. view post

that would be flippin' awesome. Even if you were able to copy liek the game engine/designs from an already existed game. You know like something like, take character desgin and engine from maybe say "Ragnarok Online" and then create story (linear/non linear" and use sprites to play and so forth,. create maps. Who knows, just text based would not due somehting like this justice. view post

Right. I'll set up a forum/group which you can join. As JustifiedHeretic showed definite interest, he is already a member. Anyone else wishing to join drop me a pm stating so. Only do so if you are actually interested in at least seriously hammering out a system and contributing, even if not playing. view post

That sounds pretty cool to me, I dunno what sort of thing you could do though, RPGs based on books can either rule or completely miss the target. Itd be best just to be in the world, apart from the stories. The whole concept of factions and schools would make it interesting. :) view post
