besides the one thing we have in common, reading, what are some of your hobbies?

my main one would be painting and drawing. my main subject matter is people. that's one of my works in my avatar, and more can be found at myspace.com/thechainswhore.

i also like to sew. i alter a lot of t-shirts (cos metal shirts never come in small!) and now i'm collecting old shirts to make pillows out of.

cooking and baking are a great hobby. i like making things that are a bit out of the ordinary, using lots of herbs and spices and flowers.

i also like anything involving the outdoors. i think i was born into the wrong century, as i would love to be stuck in the middle of some great forest and have to carve out an existence for myself. i plan on doing so, only in a more controlled manner (ie. having equity in an already owned house to blown on materials and such while building a home.)

umm. i plan on re-taking up archery this summer. i was on the team in high school but haven;t picked up a bow since then. but my hubby's dad has a ton of property out on the escarpment and we plan ono setting up a range. wooo fun!

so how do you people kill time in an enjoyable way? view post

I played alot of hockey growing up, and really need to get back into it on a regular basis to keep fit. I snowboard when I can but that usually amounts to once or twice a season if that. I'm a pretty big computer geek, but these days alot of my study is in the area where computers and biology cross paths so that explains that. I do a fair amount of gaming on my Xbox (360 these days), and when I'm living somewhere with friends who also enjoy it I do some tabletop gaming as well.

Oh yea and I like beer I try and keep a healthy mix of stuff really I do some world creation/writing type stuff online to let the creative juices flow and am currently working on two different settings for RPG's. view post

computers and playstation2. i play winning eleven and madden a lot. planning to play Guild Wars for some time now, but couldn't get any time to do it. RPG's are one of my fave time consumers, but games like Resident Evil, God of War, and Devil may Cry are my true faves.

i also love to tinker with computer software and hardware. i can't count how many time s my PC crashed or needed to be reprogrammed because of me. view post

that's very cool, i have always been interested in working with metal.
i was welding for a while, and got my tickets and junk, but i was more interested in sculpture and creativity with it. i wanted to delve more into blacksmithing, but i have never really had the space for it. view post

i love to paint...especially with acryllics...i like to draw. My favorite form of art, tho, is random "explosions" of strange creativity....few other people consider it art, but I do.. like when i call random people random names, usually in the form of [name of an animal]-[verb]er, and then take pictures of the look on their faces....hehe, yeah....

also, i love to write....generally random things about nothing in particular...but i also like to write down ideas for the book that i want to make but will never get published.

I've mastered 9 different forms of Northern Chinese Gung-Fu, 6 different Japanese arts, and I am the last practitioner of the Chinese Martial art Kwon Gung Tsu in the world.

I like to make up fake stereotypes for random groups of people (like afroceltic sheep herders....those chery eating bastards)

I meditate whenever there is nothing important for me to do. yup, that's about it view post

I am pressed for time...as such, my hobbies and pastimes have suffered.

I enjoy hiking, running, rollerblading, cross country-skiing. All offer a wonderfully invigorating dynamism...they can also, paradoxically, provide the solace of solitude in a frenetic, bustling world.

I like discussing the many problems in our world...political, religious, you name it. I keep hoping through such discussions I'll stumble upon some interesting proposed solutions. No luck so far. But I still have fun.

I'm interested in cultivating any number of skills and pastimes that might help me ultimately achieve some degree of self-reliant living...I will never fully achieve this. However, in learning to knit and perl recently for instance, I can now look at knitted clothing and better admire how well or poorly it is constructed. I think I'll try my hand at some iron/metal work projects next. view post

I love spending time with my only loyal friend Glen Moray, or in better times Chivas Regal, in complete solitude.. On occasion my other two friends, Foucault and Nietzsche, pop up.
I suppose true hobby is addictive...

Besides that I play guitar (rock, not metal)
Recently I started running again, just to keep in shape. view post

I recently joined the track team at my school, and I enjoy it because I'm getting exercise for the first time in years. I jump hurdles as my main event, which means I am occasionally in pain. But it's all good.

I have an unhealthy addiction to strategy-based computer games. This is ironic because I am not a very good strategist.

One of my main interests is architecture. I'm very intrigued by the design elements that make houses enjoyable to live in versus the weird designs that are popular with many high-end architects. Honestly, a vaulted ceiling seems to serve no purpose other than to be impressive and awkward.

I'm very much into fantasy and have an incredible amount of stuff because of that. Costumes, staves, necklaces and pendants, rings, and even a pair goblets carved from stone.

Awesome. You should find a few students, there's money to be made there. Not to mention the value of keeping obscure traditions alive. view post

haha, i love vaulted ceilings.. honestly, i don;t see the point of having a flat ceiling. how boring!

i plan on designing a house in the future, so i've been looking into stuff like that a lot lately. while searching for a place to live a couple months ago, i really noticed how badly most houses are designed. view post

I watch too many design and renovation shows... it makes me itch to live in a place that I can at least paint however I want and be there long enough for it to be worthwhile heh. view post
