"I believe that there is something greater than us and that we are part of some purpose but I don't think that anyone can know exactly what that purpose is or can fully comprehend a being that is so much more than us."

Can I ask why you believe that we're part of some purpose? Can we not be random and anomalous?

I think the human ego is too fragile and soft to accept that our existence is really meaningless.[/quote:2rndyldv]Exactly, but I would add that most of the craziness that peopole conform to is because they are really, really afraid to die. Subconciously it is always there, I know that is pretty obvious. <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="" title="Idea" /><!-- s:idea: --> But people don't seem to realize it. We try to reach immortality and avoid the uknown any way we can. If that means believing in superman God to comfort a mind, good for them. Stop proselytization though. view post
