How much is too much? posted 08 May 2005 in Writing TipsHow much is too much? by Kidruhil Lancer, Auditor

When it comes to the scale of a story, just how much scale is too much? I'm sure this would depend in part upon the writers abilities, the flow of the story, and so on...

For instance, what if the story requires upwards of 10 or more main characters? Each neccessary for the plot to advance properly?

Is it better to change the story so that there isn't a need for so many main characters?

Any random advice or pointers anyone could offer would be most appreciated. Thanks!
