Why read fantasy? posted 12 August 2004 in Literature DiscussionWhy read fantasy? by JustifiedHeretic, Peralogue

my first fantasy book was "Men at Arms" part of the discworld seriers, at first it sparked my interest in fantasy because it was hilarity at its best. But soon i began avoiding the fantasy with scantilly clad warrior elf women, and turned to Tolkien. (my main genre is socio/political writings..with all G.W. Bush is doing i've been swamped with reading.) But ive found alot of fantays books that arent scantilly clad women, but are very thought provoking like PoN. view post
