Drugs can serve to free a man or make a slave of him. I believe that psychedellics contribute to the former, and opiates to the latter, I myself having (ab)used both. It is important to note that either in excess will likely leave you broken and/or insane. It is also important to note that guidance in the use of either (spritual leaders in the case of psychedellics and doctors in the case of opiates) will almost always improve the outcome, if not at least you will have been warned of the effects of abuse. In any case drugs serve as a doorway into another world, opening up pathways of possibility that lead to both the gates of heaven (rarely opening them) and the darkest pits of hell.
Another important note: state your intentions when taking any drug, and if you have none then abstain. The consequences can be devastating to both you and the ones who love you. I found out the hard way. view post
